My story
My name is Jesse Uddoh-Blackson. I am 19 years old and currently studying Sport, Management and Entrepreneurship at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. From a very young age, I have dreamed of becoming a racing driver. My passion for motorsport started early and has shaped the journey that brought me to where I am today.
The First Steps
As a child, I was fascinated by cars and everything related to speed. Racing was my dream, but my parents saw it as too expensive and didn’t know where to start. Fortunately, I found an outlet for my passion in Formula 1 games on Xbox, where I quickly stood out.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, I spent a lot of time indoors and discovered that my skills in sim racing had real potential. I started competing in online racing competitions and achieved strong results. At just 13 years old, I was already making an impression. Through this, I connected with a Dutch karting champion who gave me valuable advice. With a well-prepared plan, I managed to convince my parents to let me start karting. My journey on real tracks had begun.
My First Races (2021)
In 2021, I entered my first karting races. I competed in three events in the Dutch Rental Kart Championship (NKH) and participated in a test weekend with NXT-GP. Success came quickly: during my second NKH event, I won a heat, and in the third event, I finished second in the B final. Although my NXT weekend was less successful, one thing became clear—I had fallen in love with karting and wanted more.
The Breakthrough (2022)
Thanks to hard work and the support of my family, I was able to purchase my own kart in 2022: an older RK1. A dream come true. On my very first test day, I was already among the fastest drivers on track. During my first NXT race weekend, I immediately secured a podium with a second-place finish, claimed my first victory, and even started from pole position.
For a long time, I was fighting for the championship, but persistent engine problems during the final three race weekends ultimately cost me my chances. Despite these setbacks, I proved that I had the pace to compete at the front.
A Challenging but Educational Year (2023)
After a strong debut season, I moved up to the Dutch 4-Stroke Championship (NK4T), made possible by new sponsors. The season turned out to be challenging, with many technical issues preventing me from securing podium finishes.
However, there were several races in which I was running in podium positions, demonstrating that I had the speed to compete at the front. Unfortunately, mechanical failures and other setbacks often prevented me from finishing those races.
Despite the frustration, I remained determined. I learned a great deal about the kart, my driving style, and performance optimization. These experiences prepared me for 2024, a year I approached with confidence.
The Transition (2024)
Unfortunately, the 2024 karting season was disappointing. The Compkart I raced proved to be uncompetitive on Dutch tracks, and frustratingly, I was slower than in 2023 with my older kart. Additionally, the Dutch 4-Stroke Championship saw a decline in participation, with only seven drivers remaining.
With my planned transition to car racing in 2025, I decided to withdraw midway through the season and fully focus on preparing for my next step.
At the end of 2024, I drove a race car for the first time—the Citroën C1 that I would later compete in within the PTC Cup. I adapted quickly; after just half a day, I was already focused on improving pace and control. One month later, I obtained my racing license, including an EU license, thanks to my on-track performance.
Debut Season in Motorsport (2025)
2025 became the year in which my dream turned into reality. After years of preparation, I made my debut in the PTC Racing Cup, a highly competitive class with many experienced drivers. The goal was to learn, but it quickly became clear that I had more to offer than just gaining experience.
During my very first race weekend at Assen, I secured pole position, stood on the podium, and even won one of the races—a dream start that immediately proved my competitiveness. From that moment on, the season became a journey of growth, battles, and unforgettable moments.
Throughout the year, I learned to adapt to different conditions: rain, dry tracks, technical challenges, and intense on-track battles. Every lap made me stronger. I learned how to manage tires, when to take risks, and when to stay composed.
The results followed. Multiple race wins, consistent podium finishes, and an early Rookie title built confidence. Everything came together during the season finale at Meppen. With two wins and a second-place finish, I made history: I became not only the Rookie Champion (13 wins out of 13 races), but also the overall PTC Racing Cup Champion 2025 (4 wins out of 13 races), as the first rookie ever to achieve this.
It was a season full of emotion, growth, and pure passion. From my first laps to lifting the championship trophy, 2025 marked the true beginning of my motorsport career. And this is only the start.
The Next Step (2026)
In 2026, I will compete in the BMW 318ti Cup with MDM Racing, a German team that consistently runs at the front. This step allows me to continue my development in a highly competitive environment.
I have also been selected for the DMV Young Talent Program, where I am one of only three drivers receiving professional guidance both on and off the track.
My goal is clear: to fight at the front in both the Junior and Overall Championships from my very first season. None of this would be possible without the support of my partners, who make it possible for me to take this important step in my career.
Sim Racing: The Foundation for Success
Alongside real-world racing, I continue to develop my skills in the simulator. A major highlight was winning the MP Motorsport sim competition in 2021, which earned me the opportunity to visit the paddock during the 2022 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix. There, I met Frits van Amersfoort, who invited me to test on the Van Amersfoort Racing simulator—where talents like Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc began their careers.
During this test, I set the second-fastest time ever recorded on their Formula 4 simulator, immediately attracting attention. It was an incredible experience to benchmark myself against some of the best young drivers. At the end of the session, I received a detailed personal report analyzing my driving technique and highlighting areas for improvement. This marked an important step in my development and further strengthened my confidence in my future in motorsport.
In 2025, I returned to competitive sim racing. As a driver for Alpine Endurance, I compete in international championships, continuing to refine my skills both in the virtual and real world. This has already resulted in further success, including a championship title as the highlight.
My goals
Short time
- Competing at the front of the junior/overall championsship
The BMW 318ti Cup features a highly competitive junior field, where junior champions regularly go on to win the overall championship as well. In my first season, my goal is therefore to compete at the front in both the junior and overall championships right away.
Lange termijn
- 24 Hours of Le Mans
My ultimate goal is to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the most prestigious and legendary endurance races in the world. Every step in my racing career is dedicated to achieving this ambition.
The path to Le Mans is not fixed. Motorsport is dynamic, and opportunities often arise unexpectedly. That is why I do not focus on one predefined route, but instead on achieving concrete short-term goals that consistently bring me closer to endurance racing. By continuously learning, performing, and developing, I maximize my chances of progressing to the highest level and proving myself there.
